There is a beach in East Lombok called Segui Beach that quietly holds a charm similar to that of the Pink Beach in East Lombok. However, the Pink Beach (Tangsi Beach) is more well-known due to its easier access.

Although the locations of these two pink beaches are not too far apart, the travel time between them is quite different because the road to Segui Beach is still not in good condition, especially when using a four-wheeled vehicle.

If using a two-wheeled vehicle, the journey can feel smoother.

Segui Beach Uniqueness and appeal

Some people even consider this beach, often dubbed “Pink Beach 2,” to actually be more beautiful than the original Pink Beach. Especially for introverts who prefer quiet places for healing rather than visiting beaches that are crowded with tourists.

The sand at Segui Beach is exactly the same as what we find at Pink Beach in terms of shape and color. The pink pigment on the micro corals, mixed with sedimentary sand, comes from a creature called foraminifera.

The calm waves framed by cornfields make this place one of the best secluded getaways on Lombok Island.

This beach also has a peaceful character similar to Selong Belanak Beach in Central Lombok, only with different sand color and fewer visitors.

Best Time To Visit

We always recommend coming as early as possible because the sand reflects a deeper pink glow in the morning and late afternoon. Then return while there is still sunlight in the afternoon for safety.

This beach is not very spacious, so it can feel very crowded and be difficult to find a shady parking spot during holidays and long weekends. Therefore, visiting on a weekday is more recommended for those of you who are looking for a more peaceful atmosphere.

Segui Beach is located in Sekaroh Village, Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. It is part of a series of beautiful beaches at the southeastern tip of Lombok Island. This is a remote area with a low population density. Nevertheless, traffic in this area becomes quite busy on weekends due to the many other tourist attractions in the surrounding area.

Land Journey

The land journey to Segui Beach can be done using private vehicles such as cars or motorbikes. If you start from Mataram, the trip will take approximately 2.5 hours, while from Lombok International Airport it takes about 1.5 hours. The road access to this area is generally good, although as you get closer to the beach, you should be cautious due to the presence of many potholes.

Some parts of the road near the beach may still be unpaved or bumpy, so it’s recommended to use a vehicle in good condition, preferably with high ground clearance. Along the way, you’ll pass through scenic rural areas and small villages, offering a glimpse of local life in East Lombok. Due to limited signage, using a GPS or traveling with someone familiar with the route is highly advisable.

Sea Journey

In addition to traveling by land, Segui Beach can also be reached by sea—a scenic and adventurous option perfect for those who love exploring coastal beauty. Most people begin their sea journey from Tanjung Luar Harbor or Telong-Elong Harbor in East Lombok.

One of the advantages of taking the sea route is the opportunity to stop by Mini Sand Island (Pulau Pasir Mini) and snorkel around Gili Petelu, a small island known for its vibrant coral reefs and marine life. The boat ride typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the sea conditions.

At the time this article was written, local visitors are charged a fee of Rp. 5,000 per person, while international tourists are charged Rp. 25,000 per person. These rates are, of course, subject to change at any time.

Operational Hours

This beach is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, we recommend visiting in the morning and returning before the afternoon, unless you plan to go camping.

Facilities

With an entrance fee that is still considered affordable, you can enjoy facilities that we believe are quite satisfactory. We can’t expect luxury facilities, considering the location and the geographical condition of Segui Beach, which is somewhat difficult to access for development.
