You may ever hear about Pulau Kanawa in Lombok, but never hear about Kenawa Island. Yes, it is another paradise that you can find in eastern part of Lombok. For some people, the name of this island and beach, Kanawa island, is familiar. This island is located near Labuan Bajo, near Flores, and is not only famous for domestic travelers, but also international travelers. Yet, different from Kanawa Island, we also have beach which the name is similar, we call it Kenawa Island The location is quite far from the Kanawa, hundreds of kilometers at West Nusa Tenggara.
Kenawa Island is not as famous as Kanawa, then. For those who like traveling and choose Lombok as their vacation destination, you can include this stop into your plan. You cannot find local people who live here, but of course you can find some homes that aimed for travelers who come and want to stay here. If you come from Lombok, you need to go to Sumbawa, from Kayangan harbor to Poto Tano. The price of the boat is around IDR 20.000 per pax, and time needed to get there is only 1 to 2 hours. After taking the boat, then you need to cross from a harbor near Poto Tano, Sumbawa with fast boat. This harbor only provides service for tourists who want to visit islands surround Poto Tano, or sometimes also called as the Lombok Gilis.
There are at least 9 small island surround the Poto Tano. The public boat to get there is IDR 30.000 per pax, or IDR 250.000 to rent one boat. The time for renting is also flexible so that the tourists can enjoy their journey without thinking about the schedule of the public boat.
